Iguazu Falls, Brazil

As the world's largest waterfall system, there's no shortage of views here. The 275 different drops impressed a visiting Eleanor Roosevelt so much that the former first lady allegedly exclaimed, "Poor Niagara!"

Amalfi Coast, Italy

This long-lusted-after vacation spot recently made an appearance in Wonder Woman. The producers used the coastline as a stand-in for Themyscira, the superhero's mythical birthplace.

Hallstatt, Austria

Now known as the "most photographed place in Europe," the lakeside town dates back to the Iron Age. Travellers could only access it by boat or narrow trails until the late 19th century.

Petra, Jordan

While Indiana Jones may have found a fictional Holy Grail here, the archaeological site contains plenty of real-life treasures too. Carved from entire rock, the "Rose City" positively glows at sunset.

Provence, France

Yes, the lavender fields smell amazing, but let's not forget the wines, beaches and charming architecture in this stunning region. Talk about heaven on Earth!

Hampshire, England

Banff National Park, Canada

Nestled in the middle of the Rocky Mountains, Moraine Lake gets its H20 and stunning colour from the glaciers. The silt — also known as rock flour — refracts light, creating the vibrant turquoise hue.

Angkor, Cambodia

Drowning churches or deserted theme parks, there's something eerily beautiful about nature taking over. Once an ancient Buddhist monastery, Ta Prohm temple became part of the jungle once the Khmer Empire fell in the 15th century. Now conservationists maintain the ruins but leave some picturesque vegetation in place.

Fiordland National Park, New Zealand

While Maine enjoys its own lupine super blooms, a similar phenomenon occurs in the Southern Hemisphere too. On New Zealand's South Island, this conservation area transforms into a purple wonderland each December.

Bora Bora, French Polynesia

Nothing's dreamier than an overwater bungalow, and this tiny island contains some of the most luxurious aquatic accommodations in the world. At the Four Seasons, you can even reserve one with its very own plunge pool.

Antelope Canyon, Arizona

Gently carved by rainwater over time, the sandstone formations wind through Navajo Nation. Magical beams of light pierce through overhead openings, making the spot especially popular with photographers.

Keukenhof Gardens, Netherlands

Known as the "most beautiful spring garden in the world," Keukenhof explodes with colour every spring when 7 million tulip bulbs bloom almost simultaneously. The phenomenon only lasts from March until May, so plan your trip accordingly.

Marble Caves, Chile

Paddle through Lake General Carrera on the Chile-Argentina border and you'll stumble upon some otherworldly treasures. Millenniums of lapping waves carved calcium carbonate into the swirling caverns known as the Cuevas de Marmol.

Portland, Maine

There's nothing quite like a summer in New England, and Maine's rugged coastline is no exception. George Washington commissioned the postcard-worthy Portland Head Light in 1787 when the territory still belonged to Massachusetts. Now the shining beacon attracts more tourists than mariners.

Plitvice Lakes, Croatia

The country's largest national park is a cascading series of waterfalls, caves and pools that are home to an enormous wildlife population. While summer's the most popular time to visit, the frozen cataract is equally stunning come winter.

Zanzibar, Tanzania

Hate crowds? Head to this Indian Ocean archipelago for virtually-deserted beaches and crystal clear waters. The capital's historic centre, Stone Town, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that mixes East African, Arab, Persian, Indian and European elements.

Patagonia, Argentina

Backpackers and skiers can't get enough of the Andes, where the steppe-like plains, erupting volcanoes and massive glaciers suck you into an irresistible wilderness. The overwhelming remoteness only adds to the appeal.

Painted almost entirely blue and white, this Mediterranean village is one epic Instagram backdrop. Looking for something a little more saturated? Venture to the cerulean-colored city of Chefchaouen, Morocco.

Mykonos, Greece

It's got a party-hard reputation, but the Greek island is also home to some of the most charming buildings around. We'd take this picturesque balcony over a nightclub any day.

Maui, Hawaii

Does the Aloha State top your travel bucket list? You're not alone. The Pacific islands are the most popular destination on Baby Boomers' checklists, according to AARP survey. Maui's home to some of the state's most amazing outdoor adventures, like kayaking past whales in makina bay.

Daigo-Ji, Japan

The Kyoto temple complex attracts crowds during the cherry-blossom season, but the fall foliage provides an equally-stunning backdrop for the historic buildings. One pagoda dates all the way back to 951

Blue Ridge Parkway, Virginia

There's something to be said for a good, old-fashioned road trip. Cruising along Skyline Drive is the easiest way take in gorgeous Shenandoah National Park.
